You may be a mobile journalist who live streams from field, which means mobile gear and light are essential. Or, you can be a professional live streamer, who is more concerned about the streams’ quality more than everything.
To fulfill these different objections, you would need various media streaming equipment from the list mentioned below.

1. Microphone
Viewers care more about the audio in a live stream than they do about the video. No viewer would want to watch a good quality video with bad audio. If the sound is broken and irregular, the audience would stop watching the stream midway. So investing in this live steaming device is recommended. You can choose from different qualities based on your requirements.
2. Camera
Live streaming involves shooting a video and broadcasting the video through the internet simultaneously. Without a camera, you cannot shoot any video. While there are numerous types of cameras available in the market, choosing the one that suits your purpose is advisable.
For instance, if you are starting up and are experimenting in your live stream, you may want to invest in a budget-friendly device, such as a smartphone camera, entry-level camcorders, and action cameras. They offer good video quality in well-lit environment. However, they may not come with connectivity and manual controls.
Then, if you have the budget or need a better camera, you can go for mirror-less and DSLR cameras that have decent connectivity, and offer better resolution and have more manual controls. In case your needs are more, invest in professional cameras, which offer excellent image quality, superb manual controls, and more features.
3. Internet Connection
You do not need an internet connection but a powerful and robust internet connection. This about it, you will be shooting video in high resolution and want your viewers to view it in the high resolution too. If the internet is not reliable or fast enough, your live streaming would get hampered upsetting your viewers. You should use wired Ethernet cable and not the simple Wi-Fi.
4. Encoder
Encoders are of two kinds – software and hardware. The software encoder runs on laptop or desktop computer. For capturing the video, they are required to be paired with capture card or other ways of connecting the cameras to the computer. Hardware encoders, on the other hand, support a broad range of sources, such as SDI and HDMI. They can support live streaming 24x7 without crashing. You can also find hardware encoders that use 4G LTE connection and battery to live stream from remote locations.
5. Mixing Equipment
Switching or mixing live streaming device lets you capture various audio and video sources, and alter between them during live screaming. However, this is completely optional and is only essential when you are doing a big multi-camera shoot.
6. Content Delivery  Platform
There are various platforms available where you can upload your content and get views. But you should be wary of live streaming on platforms that are not white label. Some platforms are even blocked in several organizations and institutions, which may affect the overall viewership of your live broadcast. Furthermore, if you are professional and want to be known as a reliable live streamer, you should post on white label platforms only.
Conclusion
Live streaming is an art but can be easily performed with practice. With valuable content, excellent delivery of your content, and some devices required for live streaming, you can easily make your way to the top. Just remember to be consistent, considerate about the audience’s request, and patient through your journey. Lastly, do not forget to invest in useful and effective quality live streaming equipment.
